St Patrick's Night with Brian Ó hEadhra at Edinburgh FC / EFC
Edinburgh Folk Club is pleased to welcome singer-songwriter Brian Ó hEadhra (pron. Breean Ohara) to the club to celebrate St Patricks Day on Wednesday 15 March 2023.
Brian performs traditional and contemporary songs predominantly in Gaelic and English and has toured globally as a professional musician. He has been recorded on over twenty albums over a thirty-year career. Currently, he performs with the trio McKerron Brechin Ó hEadhra and the duo Brian Ó hEadhra & Fionnag NicChoinnich. Past acts he has performed with are Anam, Cruinn, and Christine Primrose.
Nominated for Gaelic Singer of the Year at the 2020 Trad Music Awards (Scotland), fRoots magazine described him as "...the most vocally talented, versatile and engaging male vocalist in Gaeldom." Brian has also sung numerous songs on the album series The Complete Songs of Robert Tannahill.
For this solo concert, Brian will sing a range of traditional and contemporary folk songs from Ireland and Scotland as well as Eastern Canada. He was brought up in Dublin, Ireland as well as St Johns, Newfoundland and moved to Scotland with his band Anam in 1997. Based in Inverness, Brian has recently started a monthly Inverness Acoustic Music Club.

UCC has relatively easy access for wheelchair users. There's a portable ramp to enable the wheelchair to get past 3-4 steps from the street to the main door. Once inside everything is on the same level (ground floor) - performance room, bar and disabled-friendly toilets.
