Park Theater Hudson: Hudson Jazz Festival - The Tyler Blanton Group
Park Theater Hudson in association with Hudson Hall presents Hudson's Jazz Festival! An after hours event with doors at 8pm and the show starting at 9pm, the Hudson Jazz Festival migrates down Warren St to the Park Theater to continue the experience of jazz in a different setting series!
In the past decade Tyler Blanton has established himself as a unique and lyrical voice on the vibraphone. His Hudson Valley debut finds him in the company of an all star cast including pianist Gary Versace, Bassist Joe Martin, and drummer Rudy Royston.
Keyboardist Gary Versace was able to rise to the top of the contemporary jazz scene in scant few years and has become one of the most prominent, in-demand organ players in contemporary jazz, working with the Grammy-award winning big band of Maria Schneider, and the Nuttree Quartet with Jerry Bergonzi.
Joe Martin is one of the most sought-after bassists on the current New York City jazz scene known for his warm sound, facile ear, harmonic flexibility, and lyrical solos.
Rudy Royston has performed with many of todays finest Jazz musicians and found his voice under the auspices of Colorado's celebrated trumpeter Ron Miles, whom Royston deems his greatest influence.
