GiveWay

The four lovely sisters of GiveWay hail from Scotland and have been playing for the love of it since they were in the single digits, and professionally since 1998. GiveWay features Fi (fiddler, vocalist, guitarist and whistle player), Kirsty (accordionist and lead singer), Amy (drummer and vocalist), and Mairi (pianist and singer).
Always leaning toward bold melodies and vocal harmonies, the sisters put a contemporary spin on traditional Irish and Scottish tunes, foot-tapping and jazzy folk songs, rock-inspired jigs, and songs written by acclaimed Scottish artists Phil Cunningham and John McCusker.
They've won awards at the acclaimed Scottish music festival Celtic Connections, in the BBC Radio's "2 Young Folk" awards, and have performed on numerous radio and television shows. They've also supported top musical acts including Karen Matheson, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, and performed alongside Cherish the Ladies, Natalie MacMaster, Kate Rusby and Fiddler's Bid.
They began touring the US a couple years ago and have been invited back at every stop. This will be their first appearance in the Capital District.
