Tony Furtado
Tony Furtado crosses the line between Jam-based folk-rock, bluegrass, and classic rock. He's a slide guitarist, banjo wizard, and songwriter with an emotionally riveting voice. Tony took up the banjo at age twelve. Seven years later he entered himself in the banjo competition at the venerable Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas and won the Grand National Championship. Now a seasoned road warrior playing an average of 300 shows a year, Furtado's passion is to play live and bring his music out there to the peoplea propensity that has made him a favorite among young bluegrass and jam fans. He offers a mix of orginal tunes, unique arrangements of traditional material, and cover songs by the likes of Tom Petty and The Beatles.
