826michigan Presents the Fifth Annual Storymakers Dinner!
826michigan, along with Erin and Philip Stead (A Sick Day for Amos McGee), invite you to celebrate a year of great stories at the Zingerman's Roadhouse. All proceeds benefit 826michigan's free creative writing and tutoring programs for students aged 6-18 in Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Detroit.
Erin Stead is the Caldecott-Medal-winning illustrator of A Sick Day for Amos McGee, also named a New York Times best illustrated book of 2010. She and her husband, author and artist Philip Stead, co-created A Sick Day for Amos McGee and Bear Has A Story To Tell, which was named a best children's book of 2012 by Kirkus Reviews and an E.B. White Read-Aloud Award honor book. Erin also illustrated the award-winning And Then It's Spring. . .
Philip C. Stead is the author of A Sick Day for Amos McGee. Philip, also an artist, has written and illustrated several of his own books, including Hello, My Name Is Ruby, Jonathan and The Big Blue Boat, A Home for Bird and his debut, Creamed Tuna Fish and Peas on Toast, which was applauded by School Library Journal for "its wry humor and illustrations worthy of a Roald Dahl creation."
826michigan is grateful to our Storymakers Dinner sponsors: Ann Arbor State Bank, Ogmog, Third Mind Books, Thomson-Shore, University Office Technologies, Zingerman's, and Print-Tech.
