Alan Munde
June 12 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm Aster Cafe, 125 SE Main Street, Minneapolis, 55414 United States $15
Alan Munde is long regarded as one of the world's foremost 5-string banjo players. His early creative work with Sam Bush in Poor Richard's Almanac and his traditional bluegrass apprenticeship with Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain Boys set the stage for his long and productive career in bluegrass music. He anchored the landmark band, Country Gazette, for more than 20 years and contributed to numerous instrumental recordings, including the 2001 IBMA Instrumental Album of the Year Alan Munde- Knee Deep in Bluegrass (Rebel Records). For this performance, Alan will be joined by two of Minnesota's top bluegrass musicians: flatpick guitar guru and Prairie Home Companion alumnus, Adam Granger, and Minnesota Music Hall of Fame traditional mandolin legend, Dick Kimmel.
