Reimagined
TwoPoint4 Dance Theater is excited to announce an upcoming performance that will take you on a journey of emotion and movement! On March 11th, 2023, the company will perform four pieces on stage including. a newly commissioned work from renowned choreographer Laja Field, TwoPoint4s acclaimed "Brick by Brick," "Thoughts and Prayers," and the silly and playful, might we say puny piece, "Cracked".
Throughout the evening, TwoPoint 4 will challenge your perceptions and leave you questioning the boundaries people often set for themselves, the dancers will take you on a journey diving deep into the theme of inner worlds, dreams and nightmares. Laja Field's new dance theater piece, specially created for TwoPoint4 Dance Theatre, promises to be a true masterpiece of contemporary modern dance theater, blending her signature style of primal and athletic dance using innovative prop use and colliding with the company's unique artistic voice.
"Brick by Brick",TwoPoint4s most recent signature piece, will be presented in a new light as it dives into a bright facade 80s style with a theme of boundaries and vulnerability. This work is a powerful mix of athleticism and emotion that will leave you questioning your own limits and exploring the depths of human connection.
"Thoughts and Prayers" brings the currently and everyday issues of gun violence in America to the front of our minds as dancers perform to the spoken words of IN-Q. This piece was Tony Nguyen's first piece incorporating elements from hip hop and rhythmic timing of spoken word. This piece has won numerous awards for choreography and content.
Lastly, "Cracked, a piece that originally premiered in 2013, is a lively and humorous trio of performers that brings together dance and live piano accompaniment. The audience will witness dancers interacting with sculptures in a comedic fashion that will likely hit your funny bone. The performance will be a unique blend of puns, humor and art that will end the evening on a light note.
Don't miss this special event, get your tickets now and be a part of an unforgettable night of dance, comedy, music and art!
