F3 - Fullerton Film Festival - A Dios Momo
A Dios Momo Uruguay, 2005. 107 min. Writer/Director: Leonardo Ricagni
Set during the mythical nights of the irreverent and provocative Uruguayan Carnival, A DIOS MOMO is a visually stunning story of an 11-year-old street boy, Obdulio, who sells newspapers for a living but cannot read or write. One day, he meets a magical "Maestro" in the night watchman of the newspaper's office. Obdulio's charismatic mentor not only introduces him to the world of reading and writing but also teaches him the true meaning of life through the lyrics of the "Murgas" (Carnival Pierrots). Great for the whole family!
