ASCE COPRI Seattle Dinner/Hybrid Meeting - January 18, 2023
Topic: The New ASCE/COPRI Design Standards for Piers and Wharfs This presentation will discuss the latest development of creating new national standards for the design of piers and wharves. The new ASCE/COPRI Design Standards for Piers and Wharves shall apply to the design, construction, alteration, enlargement, upgrading, and replacement of piers and wharves or near-shore marine structures. The purpose of this standard is to provide minimum requirements, loads, load combinations, hazard levels, associated criteria and performance goals based upon current scientific and engineering knowledge, experience, and industry practice. This standard will provide reference documents, load factors and load combinations.

Speaker: Dr. Jaradat is a vice president and Structures Technical Director at Moffatt & Nichol. He is an industry expert in seismic research, design, and construction of structural systems, with a focus on port structures. He also serves as the moderator of New ASCE/COPRI Design Standards for Piers and Wharves Committee.
