Matt EPP Back in the Church
Well if you are on the list you know the drill. We at Small World Art (formerly I Arted in a Church) like damn good live music.
Tara and Jer open their art gallery church to you for a night of music and good (and some bad) conversation.
We bring world class acts into our old and damn funky church. It is a house concert thing. We make no money. we all split the cost of the band and have a great time. Very limited tickets sold, it ain't that big of a church but it sounds big.
And you just happen to be on the invite list.
Toronto based singer songwriter and incredibly nice guy, Matt Epp on stage and back by popular demand. A bit of of praise for Matt:
Backing up Matt is a stellar guitarist Michael Tuyp. Roots, Blues and Country Guitar Player. Michael is a Toronto based guitar player working with songwriters and bands for over 20 years. His influences are vast ranging from country artists like Ry Cooder and Kevin Breit to Jazz Fusion artists such as Jimmy Herring and Steve Morse. Michael studied music performance back in the early 2000s focusing on Jazz performance early on and eventually finding country music after visiting Nashville early on his career became thoroughly ensconced in the guitar and musical traditions happening there. He began touring all over North America and some in Europe as well with many different artists and bands such as The Devin Cuddy Band, Lindi Ortega, New Country Rehab, Amanda Rheame just to name a few. He is a recording artist as well collaborating and creating in a studio environment along side musicians and bands as well as producers.
Praise for Matt's Most Recent Album:
"It's folksy poetry that first sets this work afloat, but it's in the album's roots rock groove that it gains its footing as an ensnaring scorcher. " - POPMATTERS
"so much emotional depth you may need a life jacket." - Canadian Beats
"clearly his most fully realized effort. Shadowlands is a lush, Americana-steeped singer/songwriter record that teems with musical depth.." - Winnipeg Free Press
Earnest and deep, Matt Epp belts from the heart throughout Shadowlands which is an invigorating and soulfully rich album every step of the way - TATTOO
Supple roots rock...sometimes soothing, other times assertive, with Epps expressive, rasping tones. - BLOG CRITICS
