A quick look at what Asterial Dance will be presenting...
1. Gripped: A quirky, dark piece that looks at the effects of OCD, particularly the dichotomy of being in complete control while being completely out of control.
2. Right...like...um...er... If you don't mind me saying: A light and unintentionally silly piece about hesitating in both action and conversation, especially in awkward intimate moments. 3. This Ride We're On: A lyrical piece dedicated to two friends struggling with an overseas long distance relationship.
4. Buckle Up Please!: A comedy involving vehicular scenarios... think parallel parking, jump starting cars, and road rage.
5. A Series of Immaterial Duets: Five dances for two that aren't really about anything. Except movement!
6. Seeds of Faith: An abstract and beautiful piece set to the score of John Williams that explores the stages of finding the courage to step out and pursue a dream.
7. Like Shifting Shadows: A thrilling and inspiring piece that relies on the use of lamps both as a prop and a source of light for the dancers.
8. To This Well: A moving and inspiring piece about spiritual drought, recovery, and revival. Think desert, mirages, and lots of water! Yes real water...
