Brittany Haas, Paul Kowert and Jordan Tice with Smith and Moreland
The Trio of Brittany Haas, Jordan Tice and Paul Kowert is a confluence of three of the most exciting young voices in acoustic music today. While each member carries an impressive resume of professional experience, it is the devotion to collaboration and the pursuit of a unique group sound that sets them apart. Together, Haas, Tice, and Kowert have produced a body of work containing flights of improvisation and interesting compositional turns all grounded by memorable melodies and driving rhythms. The group's adventurous spirit and desire to show the audience something new is never at the expense of the most intrinsically rewarding elements of music such as the beauty of a well crafted melody or the inspiring energy of a great groove.
Brittany Haas is fiddler for Boston-based alternative bluegrass band, Crooked Still. She played a superb Lily Pads show in spring of 2013 with Lauren Rioux and Ari and Mia.
Paul Kowert is a contemporary double bassist. His styles include classical, bluegrass, and progressive bluegrass. He is a member of the band Punch Brothers
Jordan Tice was featured on the cover of the January 2011 Flatpicking Guitar Magazine and performing the music of actor/comedian Steve Martin for Shakespeare's "As You Like It" at New York City's esteemed "Shakespeare in the Park"
