Two powerhouse duos take the stage back to back, showcasing strong vocals backed-up by masterful accompaniment. Nancy Hayashibara is one of the North Bay's most acclaimed pianists and accompanists. Tonight, she joins forces with clues-and-rock Billie Sue Fischer, whose interpretations of classic tunes turns the familiar inside out. Sarah Baker sings the blues with a strong, fun-loving Southern vibe that has won her fans throughout the Bay Area, and tonight she teams up with star jazz-bassist Jan Martinelli, who has performed with such greats as Holly Near and was featured on the cover of Spirit Magazine in feature titled Women and Jazz. This will be an upbeat, down home evening of first-class music, served with a dash of Glaser Center classand yes . . . there will be pie.
