Communicating Doors, by Alan Ayckbourn
Communicating Doors, by Alan Ayckbourn, has echoes of 'Back to The Future" with whiffs of "Psycho." The playwright uses a fiendishly clever plot to explore the possibilities that time-travel and some foreknowledge might afford.
Ayckbourn's play serves up a delightful blend of whacky comedy with high stakes suspense. Imagine what might happen when an unapologetic dominatrix, a woman of means, an aging businessman with a guilty conscience and his business partner, driven by a dangerously misguided sense of loyalty, all meet up in a posh London hotel suite.
Can good triumph over evil? Could it be true that women, far more than men, have the capacity to be agents of change? There is laughter and fun all the way, interspersed with nail-biting apprehension. One of the most enjoyable of Ayckbourn's plays with something for everyone. Dont miss it!
