Viennese Nights: A Victorian Ball
Dance to the music of the Strauss family and others of the 19th Century, as we recreate a magical evening of waltz and other historic dances. Music by the Grand Pacific Waltz Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Joe Dyke. We're in the wonderful historic Balboa Park Club in Balboa Park, San Diego: a 12,000sf dance floor, one of the largest in California. Our dance mistress is the terrific Joan Walton of San Jose. Attendees are required to wear formal wear; vintage style 19th or early 20th Century is especially appreciated. This is a shared esthetic experience: please, no jeans, tennies, or short skirts. Men are asked to wear jackets.
Special 2 hour "survival waltz" class in the afternoon (12-2 pm),in the building next to the ballroom, the Recital Hall.. $15 per person at the door only. Class taught by Joan Walton.
