Le Vent du Nord
If you've seen them before, you already know. And if you've never seen them, words won't do them justice. We can honestly say that Le Vent du Nord is one of the best bands touring today, no matter your musical taste. These four fantastically talented musicians play traditional Québécois music (which is heavily influenced by Celtic music from both Ireland and Brittany), as well as original numbers. With their infectious personalities, every performance turns into a Saturday night kitchen party, infusing old Québec with a breath of fresh air.
This multiple-award winning foursome each effortlessly tackles multiple instruments: Nicolas Boulerice (vocals, hurdy gurdy, accordion, piano), Olivier Demers (vocals, fiddle, foot percussion, and guitar), Simon Beaudry (vocals, guitar, Irish bouzouki), and Réjean Brunet (vocals, diatonic button accordion, acoustic bass guitar, piano, and jaw harp). When it all comes together, it's magic, and we are so happy to be welcoming them back to The Nelson Odeon stage. It is truly a miracle that they're squeezing us in between a week touring Sweden and a Carnegie Hall Neighborhood concert in New York City!
The last two times they played for us, we watched the audience bounce, clap, stomp, laugh, cry...and have one hell of a good time. We know these guys so we know that this show will be just as good if not better.
