Underground NYE Bash!! Ska Island feat. Adrian Xavier

The Underground returns to Woodmen Hall to light up the dance floor with the triumphant return of Ska Island! Come send 2022 out the door as we lay down a runway of good vibes for '23 to come in on. And we are STOKED to have Seattle reggae icon Adrian Xavier sitting in as a special guest with us!

Ska Island is an ever evolving cadre of musicians specializing in classic Jamaican ska tunes, drawing heavily from the catalog of the all-time great ska/reggae/jazz fusion group The Skatalites. This is some of the most undeniably electric dance music of all-time, with blistering horn melodies soaring on top of insistent and melodic bass lines, ultimately giving way to rock and jazz inspired solos. We are incorporating some of Adrian's original music into the setlist to balance out the electric ska pace with a solid roots reggae pulse. Adrian's message of love and positivity is the perfect medicine to kick of 2023!

Ska Island bassist, founder, and general rabble rouser Kev Zed is back with fellow Lopezians J'aime Cordova on drums and Hawk Arps on keys. Adrian is in on guitar, as well as Underground cult hero Johnny Toulouse (lead guitar in Yogoman Burning Band, Saint Aberrant, Pay Dirt, & recently appeared in the Underground R&B Revue's "Halloween Special"). The complete horn section is currently TBA but we have crowd favorite Matt Nash aka "Mash" on the saxophone confirmed, and that dude is just the freaking best.
