Smooth Criminal
Smooth Criminal is an interactive hip-hop play about a nerdy white guy desperate to liberate his people as soon as he can figure out who they are. Two friends try to undo Aaron's family's tangled relationship with race and money, but his family has other plans. Based on the playwright's almost-entirely-true-but-dont-fact-check-with-his-parents life story, Smooth Criminal bumps and grinds Aaron's race and class issues with yours.
This 90-minute event includes a live reading of the script by five actors, and a conversation after.
