Breaking Ground! Color Lines Dance Ensemble Debut Showcase
Please join Color Lines Dance Ensemble in their Seattle debut dance showcase.
CLDE will showcase new work by Artistic Director Dani Tirrell and guest artist Nicole Clarke-Springer (Chicago, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater).
In What was, Color Lines Dance Ensemble creates a tender portrait of daughters and the loving and sometimes complicated relationships with their fathers. Dancers from ages 12 to 17 shed the negative thoughts of their fathers in order to accept love and give love.
This Woman's Work, first choreographed in 2002 by Dani Tirrell for Detroit-Windsor Dance Academy is dedicated to women of color who have survived breast cancer, through sisterhood and self encouragement, This Woman's Work will inspire and continue to bring awareness to those living with and surviving breast cancer.
CLDE is a youth Modern/Contemporary dance ensemble who's purpose is to cross lines of race, gender, age, orientation and religion to produce dance works that challenges the audiences' views on the African-American/African Diaspora. We strive to create works that speaks to social concerns of youth and people of color. Our mission is not only to entertain but to educate and give opportunities to young dancers of all colors in the Metropolitan Seattle area, through quality dance works that include but are not limited to annual dance concerts, community based workshops, lecture demonstrations and community outreach. We are housed inside of Northwest Tap Connection.
