Climbing Poetree + Leah Song (Rising Appalachia) Workshop and Performance
Climbing Poetree and Leah Song of Rising Appalachia ft. Biko Casini will be doing a music and movement infused arts activism Workshop. During the workshop Climbing Poetree will also incorporate their story gathering project:
S.T.I.T.C.H.E.D. With over 6,000 stories collected to date, participants will have an opportunity to interact and contribute to this ever growing tapestry. Leah Song will help participants explore sound vibration and body movement as tools for self-awareness. The space is created to help each participant to embody the physical art of making sound from all the many resonators in the body.
This ticket will also include an intimate performance by the two groups on a beautiful farm near Pauwela Cannery, Haiku. Once you purchase your ticket you will be given the location of the event.

In fifteen self-organized tours over the past 10 years, Climbing PoeTree has blazed stages hundreds of communities across the nation and globe, from Oakland to the UK, Hawaii to Mexico, South Africa to Cuba. Their soul-stirring performance has been featured alongside power houses such as Cornel West, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Danny Glover, Angela Davis, Alice Walker, Saul Williams, Sonia Sanchez, The Last Poets, and Dead Prez.

Intentionally self-managed and produced for the last 6 years, they have toured heavily both nationally and internationally boasting events all across the globe including: Joshua Tree Music Fest, Envision Festival, Burning Man, Rootwire, Naropa University, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, National Public Radio All Songs Considered, Lightening in a Bottle, Symbiosis, and the Ozara festival in Hungary.
