Every now and then a good music scene throws up a diamond or two. Artists refined, imaginative and insightful whose voice feels like it's always been there. Alice Faye is one of these rare finds. Her songs are twisting journeys, filled with wild eyed drama and bittersweet intimacy in equal measure.
Faye's work is full of bold choices with a musical lens that is widening at breakneck pace. A love of classic 70's pop, 60's folk and country is lifted to a new and exciting level through the dramatic chanson of Piaf and Brel. Confessional like a Wainwright, she is restlessly creative and in possession of a unique and arresting voice. It is this voice that gives her a wide screen, Technicolor musical vision.
