An Evening With Mervyn Stutter
Satirical songwriter, comedian, actor and scriptwriter, Mervyn has been making people laugh in comedy clubs, cabaret theatre, folk clubs, radio and TV for 40 years. This year he also celebrates his 28th year at Edinburgh Fringe where his 'Pick of the Fringe' show has become a real institution.
His topical songs have featured on BBC Radio shows 'It's Been A Bad Week' with Punt and Dennis (Radio 2), 'After Midnight' (Radio 5), 'Hayes On Sunday' (Radio 2) and BBC TV's first ever daytime show 'Open Air'.
He wrote and starred in hit BBC comedy series 'Love 40 - New Balls Please' (Radio 2) "The best radio comedy programme I've heard for years" - The Observer, and the much repeated 'Getting Nowhere Fast' (Radio 4) "Written by the extremely funny Mervyn Stutter, this comedy series has a laugh every other line. Expect to see this on TV soon!" - Radio Times
His live show is irreverent, funny, affectionate, clever but clean - chats, jokes, pithy observations and lots of clever comedy songs on guitar form a joyous 90 minute show of life affirming fun.
"Celebrating the trivial and attacking the absurd he gives us a seriously funny show" - The Scotsman
"Stutter is a sharp as any, as funny as any and more informed than most" - The Times
"Hilarious songs" - The Observer
"He is brilliant - The Guardian
"The comedy voice of the Baby Boom Generation" - Daily Telegraph
