Shakespeare Audition Seminar
Impact may give our classics contemporary settings and dramaturg them so they fly, but the language is still 99.9% Shakespeare, and we're good at that part, too. By the end of this seminar, you'll have the tools to impress even the most hardened casting directors.
Artistic Director Melissa Hillman, who has directed all of Impact's celebrated Shakespeare productions, will help you hone your audition piece, improve your audition technique, and nail your Shakespeare auditions. Class size is limited to 20 people, with a significant amount of time devoted to one-on-one attention.
About the instructor: Melissa Hillman has been with Impact since its inception in 1996, becoming Artistic Director in 2000. She holds a PhD in Dramatic Art from UC Berkeley, where she was a Pearl Hickman Fellow and was twice awarded the Mark Goodson Prize for Distinguished Theatrical Talent. Melissa currently teaches at CSU East Bay, the Berkeley Digital Film Institute, and the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre. In addition to Impact, shes also worked with the Magic Theatre, A.C.T.s MFA program, and Central Works Theatre Ensemble.
