23rd Annual Stan Rogers Tribute
The 23rd Annual Stan Rogers Tribute brings Chuck and Ben Rose back to the Ironwood Stage and Grill in Calgary for an evening of Stan Rogers favourites such as Barrett's Privateers, Forty-five Years, Northwest Passage and The Mary Ellen Carter. As always, this show supports the work of a local charity. This year the proceeds of the evening support the work of the Himat project in Pakistan which is being funded by Calgary area Rotary clubs and the International Centre for Development Learning..
As we all know, the people of Pakistan are suffering in a way that is difficult to even imagine. The Himat project does not only support emergency relief, but perhaps even more importantly, the long-term effort of building resilience for withstanding the effects of climate change through supporting innovations in agricultural practices and land and water management, and strengthening local economies, especially by supporting women entrepreneurs. Also important is the work of facilitating the emergence of community leadership that can address the challenges of their own particular community issues.
Donations for this work will also be accepted at this event, with all contributions over $50 receiving a charitable tax receipt.
