Lynch Dance Institute presents Mixed Nuts
A beautifully, unexpected holiday tradition ACT ONE Clara, who is coming of age, finds herself stuck between the simplicity and magic of childhood and the responsibility and unknown of becoming a young adult. At her familys annual holiday party, Clara receives a special gift from her mother, a beautiful key necklace that signifies the coming of age, which has been passed down from generation to generation. Later that evening, unaware of its magic, Clara puts on the key necklace and she is instantly transported to a colorful and vibrant world. Clara is awoken from a sleepy dream to find a group of baby mice who take interest in her key. Following close behind is a band of rats who threaten to take Claras key before a group of toy soldiers come to her aid. The magic of Claras necklace begins to expose her to a new and unknown world. Clara finds herself travelling through a wintery forest where she connects with a familiar and warm presence, her Guiding Light. The gentle snowfall gives way to a fierce snowstorm, and as Clara desperately tries to escape, she loses her key. Guiding Light returns with Claras key, its magic carrying her on an unknown journey. ACT TWO Clara, led by her Guiding Light, enters a magical realm where she has beautiful encounters that each symbolize a quality she now knowingly carries within herself. Pride, Wisdom, Joy, Adventure, Fortune, Innocence, Grace, Determination, Abundance, and Hope. A reminder that the sum of her actions decides the fate of her future experiences. With a more complete understanding of who she is, Clara anticipates returning home, bringing with her all of herv beautiful experiences. She is full of love and appreciation and is now ready to take on the next chapter of her lifes journey. Enjoy.
