The sea surrounds us here in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is our life blood, it has been for time immemorial. It is the salt on our faces, but also coursing through our veins. Newfoundland culture is as much focused on singing as it is the ocean. The two are so firmly intertwined - the ocean is explored and worked in and upon, and singing about it is the prime way of recounting what it means to live near, on, and in the North Atlantic. Come experience songs about the deeps, the ups and downs of life, loves, and waves in Memorial University's new CORE Science Atrium, with the great whale hanging in the rafters. It's one of the first musical events in this new glorious four story space.
