Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour

Have you ever wondered what happens to the water from your shower, laundry and toilet after it goes down the drain? What about storm water and runoff from lawns and gardens?
The SF Public Utilities Commission invites San Francisco residents to take a free tour of our Wastewater Treatment Plant. You'll learn about the history of wastewater treatment in San Francisco, tips on preventing pollution of our Bay and Ocean, and best of all, you'll get to go behind the scenes to see how this vital piece of infrastructure works.
We will meet at Intersection for the Arts at 9am and take MUNI to the Southeast Treatment Plant located in San Francisco's Bayview District, 750 Phelps Street, 94124 Participants must bring MUNI fare. Sturdy closed shoes and socks, long pants or long skirts are required for both your safety and comfort.
