Gallery Law
You asked, we're delivering! By popular demand, we're bringing you Gallery Law, a lunchtime presentation on current legal issues that arise when working with art dealers and galleries. Presenter Alison Ivey will cover:
+ consignment of artworks for sale through galleries (both artist to gallery and collector to gallery), + fiduciary duties of dealers and gallerists, and + the latest on resale royalties.
About the Presenter:
Alison Ivey is Senior Corporate Counsel at Vulcan Inc. where she advises Vulcan's art department on a wide variety of contractual and compliance matters relating to transactions involving fine art, antiquities and other collectibles. Alison is also an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law where she teaches Law and Business of Art & Cultural Heritage Law. Before joining Vulcan Inc. in 2002, Alison was an associate at the Seattle law firm of Stokes Lawrence, P.S. Alison received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Seattle University where she was Executive Editor of the Seattle University Law Review.
