Hollywood Master Chorale presents "Masterworks in March: An Afternoon With Dvořák"
The Hollywood Master Chorale's annual "Masterworks in March" concert will feature two of Dvořák's choral compositions. This afternoon you will take a musical roller coaster ride from somber to stirring, from reverent to rousing!
Dvořák's "Mass in D Major," Op. 86, is an intimate and spiritual masterpiece written for chorus and organ, and will showcase the historic organ of the church.
Also on the program is his thrilling "Te Deum," a cantata featuring soprano and baritone soloists along with the chorale. Composed in 1892, it was written to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of America!
