February 26 2009 - WCTA Executive Roundtable Breakfast
The Washington Clean Technology Alliance Executive Roundtable Breakfasts are an opportunity for senior level leaders of Platinum and Gold member organizations to come together to discuss the most relevant topics of the day. Each event features a guest speaker.
This month we will discuss Climate Benefit Districts (CDB), a proposed set of tools that enables local governments to encourage and develop public infrastructure that supports livable, climate-friendly, urban development on the neighborhood scale.
Foster Pepper and Mithun, authors of the CBD concept and proposed legislation, will give an overview of how a CBD works and give details on possible tools such as SEPA preference, Development incentives and access to Public Development-style strategies. We will also discuss the status of the pending CBD bill in the Washington State Legislature.
Alice Ostdiek, Attorney at Foster Pepper, Stephen Antupit, Planner at Mithun and Amanda Righi, Researcher at Mithun will lead an interactive discussion on this topic.
