Singers On The Grand presents Tapestry: the 70s revisited
The 1970s was a decade of musical extremes: hard rock got harder, soft rock got softer, singer-songwriters were in the spotlight, and even some brand-new genres like funk and disco were born. There was more variety in music in the 1970s than ever before. Listeners had dozens of styles to choose from and many of them rose to popularity at different points during the decade.
We are SO excited to present tunes from fabulous artists like Carole King, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Earth Wind & Fire, John Denver, Joni Mitchell, The Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, ABBA and many, many more!
Our Singers On The Grand ensemble is made up of 12 vocalists and backed by an 8-piece band, all directed by Katy McDonough and Charlie Martin. We are based in Grand Ledge, Michigan and have been performing in the Greater Lansing area for nearly 25 years. This show also features small groups and soloists with lots of variety and it's all at the beautiful Wilson Center Auditorium in downtown St. Johns, MIchigan.
Don't miss this newest revue featuring the great music of the 1970s, filled with lush vocals and the high-energy Grand Band in this season's opening performance!
