Focus on Farming - Focus on Forestry
Focus on Farming is the only one-day gathering for all types of farming in one location; whether organic or conventional, livestock or row crops, large or small. Providing quality education to sustain current farmers and attract new farmers to our region is a critical component in securing the next generation's local food supply. This year enjoy new tracks that include New Technology in Agriculture, Agritourism and New and Beginning Farmers!
2022 Keynote speaker Matt Rush
Regardless of the industry you exist in, when we tell people what we do we might as well be from a foreign country even though we might live right down the street. They dont know who we are, where were from or why we do what we do. When they do meet one of us they usually look at us with curious bewilderment and ask questions that we feel are as ridiculous as asking a farm boy from New Mexico if he is from south of the border. In these current times, the disconnect between the American supplier and the average American consumer could make the Grand Canyon look like an irrigation ditch. The most important question is where did the disconnect come from and how do we fix it?
Morning keynote address, "The Farm Babe" Michelle Miller
Social media in agriculture. Social media is the #1 place where people get their information today. As one of the most followed agricultural advocates, the Farm Babe will share her tips on how she built a brand on social media and how you can too. How do you generate more followers and revenue, how do you start or continue a blog? Diversification is something that often preached in farming, but that diversification can also equal new opportunities in media monetization. How do you do it, what is an influencer?
This year we will once again host "Focus on Forestry" which is for both large and small forest landowners from all over Washington State. The day will follow the same template as Focus on Farming with sessions on various topics including Insects of Washington Conifer Forests ,Diseases of Washington Conifer Forests, Emerging Issues in Forest Health: Emerald Ash Borer and Western redcedar dieback and sooty bark disease on maples.
Please join us for Focus on Farming and Focus on Forestry.
