The Humans by Stephen Karam March 17-April 9 Directed by Miguel Reyna The Humans tells the story of the quintessential family reunion--a group of people who love each other but still wrestle with basic human fears: old age, abandonment, poverty, and death. Filled with equal parts humor and hurt, the family explores each other's familiar idiosyncrasies yet finds a deeper meaning in the struggles of life.
The Viewing Room by Mark Smith May 19-June 11 Directed by Peter Gelblum When he died, Chester Dumbrosky had a lot to be sorry for in his relationships with his wife and children. But he didn';t let death stop him - he appears at his own wake to try to make amends and heal old wounds. The ensuing uproarious laughter turns serious as his dysfunctional family seeks to resolve conflicts that everyone will recognize, if they can stop laughing long enough.
New Works Weekend - Play to be Announced August 18-20 Directed by Hannah Eckstein
Something Rotten! By Karey Kirkpatrick and John OFarrell Music & Lyrics by Karen & Wayne Kirkpatrick September 22-October 15 Directed by Kathie Kratochvil This hilarious musical comedy, nominated for 9 Tony Awards, is set in the 1590s, and brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of Shakespeare. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theater involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the worlds first musical.
A Home for Christmas by Ann Eskridge November 24-December 17 Directed by Karin Babbitt This holiday play is perfect for the whole family and is both heartfelt and funny. A group of people without homes who seek shelter from a Thanksgiving blizzard not only find a house but create a home to help them weather their emotional scars. They then discover that a jealous neighbor is willing to destroy the home and family that they have worked so hard to create.
