Jon Bonné's "The New California Wine": A Tasting and Discussion

Jon Bonné's new book is groundbreaking and magisterial. It is rewriting the understanding of California wine around the world. But for all that it can teach you, the book itself cannot make you taste the wines. Jon himself, and one or two of the winemakers that he writes about, will remedy this Saturday when they present a superb collection of the wines behind this new movement. Jon will discuss his book with the winemakers and the audience, and will pour more than six wines, from the classical acme of Ridge and Dunn Cabernets, to the outré whites of the Scholium Project.

The Red Hook Winery is proud to host Jon. The winery itself is on PIer 41 in Red Hook. The entrance is on the south side of the pier, adjacent to the Liberty Warehouse event space. The parking lot can be accessed from Conover St, at the intersection of Beard, or from Van Dyke, with an entrance opposite #186. The pier is a brief walk from the nearby Ikea, and its frequent ferry service to and from Manhattan.
