Lightsaber/Single Sword - Certification Class
EDGE, just coming off the smash success of "MacSith", in partnership with the Ving Tsun Self Defense Academy, is pleased to offer a single sword skills recognition course AKA LIGHTSABER CLASS!
This class is an introduction to the art of stage combat in single sword. The emphasis
will be on partnering, communication, story telling, easy choreography and most of
all...dorktastic fun! Use state of the art professional grade props and walk away with a
lightsaber initiate certification.
As a recognized teacher with Dueling Arts International (www.duelingarts.com)
Orion Couling will engage you in 12 hours of focused skill specific training in single
sword. Upon completion you will be offered the chance to test fight for Level 1 of skills
recognition from the governing body of DAI. Great for the resume and fantastic for actor
training or professional! As a bonus, pick whether you want to fight in Elizabethan rapier
or lightsaber.
This class requires
1. A fun but focused mind
2. Athletic attire
3. Props will be provided but you may bring your own light saber props. Please note that
Orion will inspect them before we start. It isn't necessary to own or buy your own but we
do have a company or two we recommend! See the blades in action on our website at

4. Commitment. For the technique to be safe you'll need to be at all the workshop and
you'll work hard to complete the workshop.

Dates and weeks: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, and 3/16
Cost: $100
Minimal participants: 10 (must have 8 enrolled)
Maximum participants 30
Notes: this is a theatrical movement class. Though fitness is not the goal to be effective
storytellers you'll need to dress athletically and be able to move. If you can do basic
yoga you'll be fine. The last day will have a ceremony and demonstration that family is
welcome to attend.
