Dusty Moon / Bean Creek

Bluegrass at The Woodshed! This showcase features Northern California Bluegrass Associates award-winning Bean Creek and the sweet sounds of folk duo Dusty Moon in a double bill filled with harmony and some terrific picking.

Bean Creek is a California bluegrass band that prides themselves on song selection and delivery. They search for songs that have been lost or under-appreciated and make them their own, while still tapping into the bluegrass tradition of the original vocal rendition. They have carved a niche for themselves among the critical and experienced bluegrass fans as the "real thing". More suede than patent leather, Bean Creek wants to sing and play as it was done in times past. Band members include Billy Pitrone on guitar and vocals, Sarah Eblen on bass and vocals, Rob Horgan on banjo and Peter Hicks on mandolin, fiddle and vocals.

Dusty Moon, the musical duo of Linda Maki and Rick Merritt, features an eclectic mix of acoustic originals and covers, warm harmonies and a dollop of banjo. Expect a couple toe tappers among a set of mainly sweet and slow ballads, hopefully one of which will make you reach over and give your sweetie's hand a squeeze.
