Deep Journaling Part 2: Enrich your Relationship with Self, Others, and Nature --- Berta Parrish

Have you found it hard to begin keeping a journal, much less maintain it? Do you need to jump-start or to re-charge this valuable habit?
This class continues the voyage to the interior that began with a LLCC class in May as well as encourages would-be journal keepers by sharing both the why and the how of a deeper dimension of personal writing. The class focuses on our complex and ever-changing relationship with aging, examining and articulating its challenges, rewards, disappointments, and aspirations. Entries are not descriptions of what is happening, but are explorations of how we are responding; thereby, turning events and experiences into meaningful insights and new intentions. A form of self-creation, going beyond self-discovery.
Join us to recharge your journaling practice or to discover and perhaps change your current perceptions and expectations about growing older.
Please bring a pen or pencil and paper for responding to and sharing a few writing prompts that will stimulate your curiosity and commitment. A bibliography of print and digital resources will be given to facilitate a regular practice.
In this class, you will:
1. Share ways to establish and maintain a regular journaling practice.
2. Meet your inner ageist and reframe the years ahead.
3. Deepen relationship with self and others, as it relates to late life.
4. Discover stimulating print and digital resources for reinforcement & guidance
Berta Parrish is a retired college educator, writer, and a certified Conscious Aging Facilitator with a strong background in Jungian and Archetypal Psychology. With over 40 years as a journal keeper, she has published articles on spiritual journaling, womens issues, and Wise Woman ceremonies. Berta also offers Practical Jung, Elder Tales, and Conscious Aging workshops. Her book Wise Womans Way: A Guide to Growing Older with Purpose and Passion guides women through the initiatory experience that our culture needs, yet lacks.

Attendance Policies
Course attendees will present a government-issued ID such as a passport or driver's license and proof of a full vaccination completed at least 14 days prior to the date of a class. Attendees must show a record of a booster dose of vaccine if the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine (or the single shot from J&J) was taken more than nine months before the day of the class. Attendees who need a reasonable accommodation due to a medical condition or deeply held religious belief must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the class date.
For this class all attendees and volunteers are encouraged to wear masks (covering their nose and mouth) in all areas of the venue and throughout the class. Please stay home if you are feeling ill.
