TRANScendence Sound Bath - Virtual Tickets
We are thrilled to announce that Triangle Wellness Collective and Empowered Spaces will be collaborating to bring to you a monthly sound bath for trans expansive folks! The first Friday of the month (starting October, 2022) from 6 to 7:30 pm, people will be able to experience the healing power of sound with a live, in-person experience featuring crystal singing bowls, metal singing bowls, and a few other sound healing instruments!
Led by queer trans man, Andy Prescott, this sound experience is meant for folks in the trans expansive community to get together and access deep restoration through guided meditation, assisted by the soothing vibrations of the singing bowls.
A sound bath typically involves participants lying down in a reclined position, while the facilitator plays various instruments, in this case singing bowls, in order to assist participants in reaching a state of deep relaxation and nervous system reset. The vibrations of the singing bowls "bathe" participants in sound, creating a deeply immersive experience that can assist in managing anxiety, soothing the nervous system, and connecting with the body in a generally positive way.
In line with the values of Empowered Spaces, this event will be delivered with a trauma-informed lens. Participants will be invited to explore options in how to position themselves to receive the sound bath, and are encouraged to trust their internal wisdom in knowing their needs throughout the session.
Empowered Spaces and Triangle Wellness Collective will also be donating 20% of their earnings to the St. Louis Queer Support Helpline, whose mission is to serve and strengthen the LGBTQIA+ community in the St. Louis MO-IL Metro Area and beyond, by providing an empathetic listening ear, safe and reliable connections to identity-affirming resources, as well as education and advocacy for queer St. Louisan needs.
Yoga mats, blankets, bolsters, and other equipment to make participants more comfortable will be available, and will have been sanitized before and after each session. a maximum of 10 participants will be spaced out 6 feet apart, and masks are required for in-person participants. The option to stream the event will also be available.
