Music & Mythology of Our World
The Mark Tipton Quartet performs World Folk Music derived from, inspired by, and underscoring World Mythology. In this intimate and informative concert, you will be led on a musical and mythological journey around the globe through several millennia. Learn about Ollontay, the fearless Incan warrior who defied the laws of his country and the orders of a nobleman to claim his true love; Rusalka, the original "Little Mermaid" from Czech folklore; and Narada, who sings endless hymns to Vishnu, and is able to transport himself to distant galaxies and realms. This concert is family-friendly, and the musicians will be available to answer questions at the end of the show.
