Love and Other Nonsense - A Celebration of Valentine's Day with Bernard Cornwell and Friends
Join us for an exciting evening with bestselling author - and engaging raconteur - Bernard Cornwell as he looks at the ups - and downs - of love in this Valentine's Day special. A reception will follow the event.
Performers include:
Mary O'Brady has appeared at Shakespeare Festivals and theatres from coast to coast. She toured the US as G.B. Shaw's Candida for the Guthrie Theatre and appeared in the Broadway National Tour and Los Angeles productions of Neil Simon's Rumors which she later directed. Her work as producer and director ranges from new works Off-Broadway to classics on Cape Cod to corporate projects throughout Europe. She appeared for 2 years on ABC's All My Children and her voice can be heard from PBS documentaries to the upcoming British animated series The Crumpets.
Bill Kux is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and has appeared on Broadway in Gore Vidal's The Best Man, in The Trip to Bountiful with Cecily Tyson, and the musical Ain't Broadway Grand. He toured the country with Hal Holbrook in Death of a Salesman and has appeared in more than 20 regional theaters from Seattle to Miami. He can be seen in Christian Marclay's award winning 24 hour film, The Clock.
Bernard Cornwell, a winter-resident of Charleston, has written more than fifty novels since abandoning a career as a television producer for the BBC. In the warmer months he appears onstage at the Monomoy Theatre on Cape Cod, a summer-stock theatre which offers drama students from around the US a chance to appear before a critical audience. He is particularly proud of playing Doctor Watson to Bill Kux's Sherlock Holmes.
