Celebrate Citizenship
SCM Medical Missions has been helping Syrian refugees in Washington state for many years. When they arrived they had nothing but a suitcase or bag with their belongings and nothing else. We made sure they had furniture to sleep and sit on, clothes to wear and food to eat. When times were hard we made sure they didn't miss rent or utility payments. We provided job search assistance, welcome activities, and sometimes transportation to a doctors appointment.
This enabled the resettled refugees to focus getting settled, learn about their new community, find work, and find their place. Many even started their own businesses. They have worked hard and now we want to celebrate their success in obtaining US citizenship. They worked hard for this and we couldn't be more proud of them
Please come and celebrate with us! Our event is going to be a relaxed affair and fundraiser. We will highlight the achievements of the Syrian refugees we have helped in partnership with several other organizations, have a few guest speakers, and an opportunity to mingle and get to know these amazing individuals who have accomplished so much.
We will have tea, coffee, water and Arabic sweets to serve.
