Event
Black Market Karma, Pusher & The Cult Of Dom Keller
We have a huge night of some of the best in British psychedelic music for you lucky people!!
Headlining is the London based 5 piece Black Market Karma! Their music covers a range of textures and sounds, taking influence from the 1960's psychedeIic and garage movements, with bands such as The Velvet Underground, The Beatles (Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour) to the neo psychedelic music of the 80's & 90's with bands like Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, Brian Jonestown Massacre etc.
Before them we have the magnificent Pusher! These Barnsley boys have been creating quite a stir, getting NME coverage and gaining plenty of fans with their BRMC/Black Angels influenced sound, with vocalist Gilroy now taking on a Jim Morrison meets Mark Lanegan deep tone. These guys are something special, and definitely one to look out for this year!!
Opening the night we have Nottingham's The Cult Of Dom Keller! They arrived on earth in 2008, and in their 5 years of existence they have managed to bestow upon our eardrums an abundance of merciless, psychedelic, whacked out sounds through singles, EP's and an album! The debut album landed in March last year and was released by Austin's Reverberation Society in the US and Mannequin Records in Europe to much critical acclaim! Dom Keller began in the autumn of 2008 jamming in a church cellar and it was these jams that resulted in EP1, a collection of ideas that felt like a stream of unconsciousness, a bad trip that first drew the listeners in, just to subsequently bury them alive in otherworldly sounds. People seemed to dig and the band began to network and support like minded bands such as The Warlocks, White Hills, The Black Angels and Spectrum. The band was invited to perform at The 4th Austin Psych Festival as one of a very few British bands, alongside Roky Erikson, The Black Angels and a plethora of other bands from across the world. EP2 soon followed where the sounds and atmospheres of EP1 were beginning to develop into songs and by EP3 the band were now touring Europe and playing across the UK from psyche festivals in London to the Liverpool festival of Psychedelia. The fourth EP "Secret Sounds" was a limited 6 track of almost all live, one take jams that showed a band creating some of its most varied and atmospheric work to date!
With Goodsoul DJ's , this is going to be another very special night of music for you fine folk!
