Vita & Virginia
Celebrate Valentine's Day in true subversive style (the day after!) with dazzling wit, poetic passion, and two brilliant women who never let society's rules get in their way.
Join Tempest Productions Inc. and Webster's Bookstore Café as we present Vita and Virginia AND a delectable, BYOB dinner!
Vita and Virginia Saturday, February 15, 2014 7-8 pm Dinner 8 pm Curtain
Vita is the dashing, daring writer Vita Sackville-West, today most known for her exquisite gardens at Sissinghurst Castle. Virginia, of course, is Virginia Woolf, one of English literature's most brilliant and innovative writers (Mrs. Dalloway, To The Lighthouse, A Room of One's Own). Inspired by Vita, she wrote Orlando, a glorious, gender-bending novel and "the longest and most charming love-letter in literature."
An epistolary play, Vita and Virginia is based on the women's correspondence over the course of their ardent romance and enduring friendship. The production stars Elaine Meder-Wilgus as Virginia and Cynthia Mazzant as Vita.
Join us for a night of witty, passionate words and delicious food for every palate! Dinner buffet prepared by Webster's Catering using organic, gluten-free ingredients, locally-sourced whenever possible.
