Shirley Nanette ~ A Woman and Her Music
Shirley Nanette performs her favorite signature songs and more at U&I Cultural Center, a meeting space and a platform for cultural dialogue, professional innovation, and artistic expression. This performance is co-sponsored by CDZ Collegium Musica, a 501 (c)(3) music and education non-profit which sponsors concerts and provides music educational programs to schools, retirement and community centers.
Miss Nanette is a Jazz vocal stylistic in the tradition of such greats as Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald. She is known as a dynamic, genuinely expressive, highly entertaining performer who generates incredible energy on stage. An inductee into Oregon Music Hall of Fame, Shirley has opened for Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons, Billy Eckstine, Diane Schuur, Lou Rawls and Eddie Harris. She appears regularly with the Symphony Pop programs.
Shirley has also performed as a featured soloist with symphony orchestras across the country, from National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. to the Honolulu Symphony in Hawaii. Joining Shirley is her friend and accompanist Vince Frates on piano.
