Heather Christie in Concert
CANCELED EVENT. Future Date will be rescheduled. KALA welcomes singer-songwriter Heather Christie to the stage, in a solo concert, on Saturday, August 13, at 8 p.m. Doors open 7:30. Tickets $15 in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Astoria native Heather Christie was born to a family of musicians, and picked up her mothers 1942 Martin guitar at the age of 14 and started writing her own music. She began performing her folk rock originals on the coast, releasing her first album Are You Willing, eventually forming the Heather Christie Band, and recording LOVE Road in the early 2000s.
Heather has performed nationwide, from solo artist to full band, and with the award winning FROGTOWN musical series for kids of all ages. Shes released singles and a recent album in 2021, in collaboration with award-winning composer Phillip Peletier, as the Phunsters, exploring elements of funk, chill, groove, and ambient.
Heather has not performed on the coast for numerous years, and like many musicians, is returning to post-pandemic performance. Shell be performing new material and songs selected from her original cache of 30 years of writing.
