Micah Kolk is a musician originally from Wilmington NC, where his love of music and songwriting began. At the age of 19, Micah started an indie rock band named Rio Bravo" with a longtime friend and drummer Christian Black. After lots of up and downs with the band they decided to call it quits and Micah relocated to Nashville TN. There, performing in bars and clubs, he continued to write songs under the name "Mateja".

Although Mateja was making head-way, music was not quite paying the bills so he took carpentry jobs for extra cash. With Nashville exploding in popularity Micahs freelance carpentry exploded as well, leaving him no time for his true passion; music. So after 8 years in Music City, with music taking a back seat he decided to move yet again this time to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico served as a musical reset where Micah could spend his days writing and playing music full time. After writing many songs he was proud he reconnected with friend Christian Black who had just finished building a studio in their home town of Wilmington, NC. There, they both co-produced and recorded a full length record. Thanks for listening!
