Digging Deeper - August 20th - Gardening for Newcomers to the North Olympic Peninsula
On Saturday, August 20, from 10:30 am to 12 noon, Clallam County Master Gardener Margery Whites will empower newcomers on how to garden successfully on the North Olympic Peninsula. The presentation will take place at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden at 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim
Margery will describe local growing conditions and how they impact gardening. She will help wannabe gardeners examine the topography of their property, soil conditions, and environmental exposures (e.g., wind, sun, rainfall) so that they can select the best location for their garden and the right plants. She will discuss some of the challenges of gardening in our area including our cool growing season, excess rainfall in winter and spring, drought conditions in mid-summer, and local animal life.
This workshop will be held at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden on August 20th, 2022 from 10:30 am to Noon. The Master Gardeners will also host a Plant Clinic during the event. Come with your questions and leave with some answers.
