A cultural festival featuring performances, workshops/demonstrations in San Francisco Japantown. Presented by GenRyu Arts in association with East and West Japan Center Mall.
Celebrating Japanese cultural arts with live performances in taiko drumming, karate, Japanese folk dance, Okinawan taiko & karate, and the Gintenkai National Project. Also featuring hands-on activities and demonstrations in origami paper folding, shodo Japanese brush calligraphy, and washi ningo paper dolls.

Japan Week Workshops
- August 8th Taiko - Japanese Drumming 7:30 pm (free)
- August 9th Origami paper folding 3:30 pm (free)
- August 10th, 11th & 12th Ozashiki Shamisen 7:30 ($25 per session or $50 for all 3 sessions)
- August 13th Ozashiki chamber music demo 2:30 (free)
All workshop sessions will be held in the Dandelion Room located in the Japan Center West Mall and will require registration through Brown Paper Tickets as each workshop session, free and paid, is limited to 10 participants due to the available space of the Dandelion Room.
