We are blessed in western Washington to have world class ophiolites well exposed around Anacortes on Fidalgo and surrounding islands. The Northwest Geological Society and AEG Puget Sound are teaming up for a field trip to the Fidalgo ophiolitic mélange September 9-11, 2022. Led by Dr. John Oldow the trip will include one day of a boat charter to visit beaches and islands with hard-to- access rock exposures and a second day on land.

We will meet for a lecture and dinner at the Majestic Inn in Anacortes on September 6 at 6:00. September 10 will be our "sea" day, using a local charter to access exposures on isolated beaches. Our "land" day will be September 11.
The trip registration includes land and sea transportation, opening dinner and lecture, box lunches and field trip guide. Attendees will be responsible for transportation to Anacortes and lodging, though we have blocks of rooms on hold at the Anacortes Inn ($105 + tax per night and the Majestic Inn ($350 + tax). We will facilitate room sharing on request. More information on lodging and roommate requests will be provide after registration closes.
Cancellation Policy: Registrations are partially refundable before August 19th. After August 19th, registrations are partially refundable only if there is someone on the wait list.
