Tavis Smiley, with Stephanie Robinson, Esq, insists that now is not the time to be a spectator in the change that must take place across America. As citizens, regardless of background, social status or ethnicity, we need "all hands on deck." "It is the job of politicians to make promises," Smiley says, "but it is the job of the people who elect them to make sure they keep those promises."
Stephanie Robinson, Esq is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School as well as President and CEO of the Jamestown Project, a national think tank. She was formerly Chief Counsel for Senator Edward Kennedy.
Tavis Smiley founded the groundbreaking State of the Black Union series. Among his best-selling books is The Covenant of Black America.
